Student Passions & Interests

Peer to Peer is a leadership opportunity for students in 3rd and 4th grades to learn about and work with students with disabilities. The peers serve as appropriate peer role models to help teach and support social skills.  Students work and learn together while playing games, working on crafts, and helping with academic work.  

The Parkview Elementary School Book Club is excited to encourage young readers in third and fourth grade to discover great books, explore fun and important topics, share new stories and ideas, and to be able to discuss literary topics with their peers. We will cover important reading concepts that align with the Novi literacy curriculum, such as word recognition, comprehension, new vocabulary, word relationships and figurative language. Students will learn how and where they can find new books to read in their communities, with the main goal of inspiring a strong passion for reading!

*Book Club will meet on Tuesdays after school starting January 14th and ending on April 22nd.

Exciting news, Parkview Elementary! We’re thrilled to introduce the Chess Club, a fantastic new opportunity for students to dive into the world of chess. Meeting 13 times throughout the year in Ms. Ruelle’s classroom, Room 123, on Wednesdays, the club is open to everyone—whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced player looking to challenge your skills against classmates. Join us for fun, strategy, and friendly competition as we explore this timeless game together!

The purpose of choir club is to offer students in third and fourth grade an opportunity to further their musical knowledge by learning to sing and play advanced pieces and by performing as a group. Students will enjoy making music together and express themselves musically.

Our invention convention club is a fantastic adventure filled with creativity and fun! In this club, students can team up to brainstorm cool ideas, build exciting models, and explore how things work. While collaborating with hands-on activities, student inventors get to learn problem-solving skills while expressing their imaginations. In the invention convention club we will journey through the 7 steps of invention by Identifying, Understanding, Ideating, Designing, Building, Testing and Communicating. It’s a great way to discover the joy of inventing while building confidence and teamwork skills!

Our students are incredibly dedicated to our garden. They spend time completing projects in which they research what to plant, how to care for, and when to harvest various foods. Students even visit Parkview throughout the summer to water our garden, pick weeds, and harvest food that is grown! 

In this club, students will participate in a variety of running activities and workouts. Beyond athletic skills, students will practice social emotional skills such as teamwork, leadership, following directions, self-confidence, perseverance and self-awareness. We hope to inspire a passion for healthy habits within our Novi Parkview’s community.

The Running Club will start after spring break and will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. The Running Club is open to students in Grades 2nd - 4th.
