Second-grade teacher Carly Musa was honored as the NCSD Preschool through Grade 4 Educator of the Year in February.
"One of the most outstanding qualities that make Carly an extraordinary teacher is her innovative
approach to education," said a nominator. "She has a unique talent for transforming standard lessons into captivating learning experiences. Whether it’s through interactive STEAM activities, engaging math discussions, or creative storytelling, Carly is always finding ways to make learning enjoyable. Her students leave her classroom every day with not just knowledge but also an enthusiastic love for learning that will carry them forward in their educational journey."

The MI HEARTSafe Schools Award Program was developed to help schools prepare for a cardiac emergency. We have created Medical Emergency Response Teams and Cardiac Emergency Response teams in each building.
We have CPR/AED certified personnel on staff in our district and a large amount of readily available AEDs in all of our buildings.
We run AED drills yearly to promote early response times and have taken many steps to ensure we are prepared for any medical emergency in our buildings.
For the first time, all 10 of our buildings have been recognized as being MI HeartSafe buildings. It is an honor and privilege to be awarded this for all of our buildings. It recognizes how our staff, students and families go above and beyond to ensure our students, our community and schools are safe. There is a lot of time that goes into preparing these teams and we couldn’t do it without the support of our Cabinet, Administration team and School board for promoting the health and well being of our school community.
