NCSD Honored with MI HEARTSafe Schools Award

The MI HEARTSafe Schools Award Program was developed to help schools prepare for a cardiac emergency. We have created Medical Emergency Response Teams and Cardiac Emergency Response teams in each building.

We have CPR/AED certified personnel on staff in our district and a large amount of readily available AEDs in all of our buildings.

We run AED drills yearly to promote early response times and have taken many steps to ensure we are prepared for any medical emergency in our buildings.

For the first time, all 10 of our buildings have been recognized as being MI HeartSafe buildings. It is an honor and privilege to be awarded this for all of our buildings. It recognizes how our staff, students and families go above and beyond to ensure our students, our community and schools are safe. There is a lot of time that goes into preparing these teams and we couldn’t do it without the support of our Cabinet, Administration team and School board for promoting the health and well being of our school community.
